Andrew Cook is a life long wrestling coach and sports event organizer who has developed athletes at youth and collegiate levels for 27 years.
As a USA Wrestling Gold Level coach and former foreign expert with India’s Women’s Freestyle program, he blends international experience with high-level technique and mindset training. His coaching emphasizes discipline, resilience, and clear communication, helping wrestlers and teams prepare for competition while building long-term character and leadership.
Wrestling Career Highlights
- High School: Three-time Washington State Champion (1993, 1995, 1996) and a 1994 runner-up from Burlington Edison High School, with an impressive 181-13 record over four years.
- Collegiate: Wrestled at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga and North Idaho College, earning All-Conference honors before an injury cut his career short.
Coaching Career & Accomplishments
- Team USA: Served as a volunteer coach for Team USA at the Junior Pan Am Championships (2017) and Cadet World Championships, leading athletes to medals.
- Grays Harbor College: Head Coach of the women's program, guiding them to national success and producing multiple All-Americans.
- India National Team: Head coach for the Indian Women's National Freestyle Team, coaching internationally.
- Youth & Club: Directed Vandit Wrestling Academy, coached the Mount Vernon Pitbulls, and led the USA Everett freestyle program.
- Current Role: Coach at UC San Diego (starting October 2024), coaching a program open to ages 16 and up.
