Phil "Mr. Wonderful" Davis is a former NCAA Division I National Champion wrestler and accomplished mixed martial artist who brings elite-level grappling expertise and competitive experience to his coaching philosophy.
Davis's wrestling pedigree is undeniable. During his high school career at Harrisburg High School in Pennsylvania, he served as a four-year team captain and letterman, compiling an impressive 112-17 career record while becoming a three-time PIAA Class AAA state placer.
His collegiate wrestling career at Penn State University elevated him to the national stage. Davis finished seventh in 2005, NCAA D1 runner up in 2006, fifth nationally in the 197-pound weight class as a junior in 2007 before capturing the NCAA Division I National Championship at 197 pounds in 2008. He completed his Penn State career with an outstanding 116-20 record and earned the distinction of being a four-time NCAA Division I All-American. His technical mastery, relentless work ethic, and competitive drive made him one of the premier collegiate wrestlers of his era.
Following his decorated wrestling career, Davis transitioned to professional mixed martial arts, where he became the former Bellator Light Heavyweight World Champion and competed at the highest levels of the sport in both the UFC and Bellator promotions, earning recognition for his grappling-based fighting style and submission expertise.
Davis now dedicates himself to developing the next generation of wrestlers and combat athletes, drawing from his championship experience and technical knowledge to help students reach their full potential.
